I’ve always said I’m a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy but more and more recently I’ve been changing and switching up my wardrobe. I feel like if you were to sum up in my current style the words ‘comfy’ and ‘minimalist’ would spring to mind. I like to think that my wardrobe is both modern and stylish, but as I got older I’ve learnt not to sacrifice comfort for fleeting fashion trends and always look for clothes that not only look good but pieces that I can actually move easily in. That’s where my new found love for oversized utility jackets comes in.
I snagged this jacket pictured in this post at Bershka a month ago which is heavily inspired by the current worker wear and utility jacket trend. Like most practical working clothes it’s made of a thick durable wax canvas material that is incredibly lightweight and makes it perfect for layering in the colder months. I’ve been digging these jackets in this earthy tone a lot recently pairing them with other colours in the same colour palette; creams, greys, beiges, browns and blacks. In this post I pair the jacket with my favourite cream hoodie from Urban Outfitter and some grey checkered sweatpants.
Since in London at the moment we’re in transitional weather where it is warm one day then freezing the next, I have also picked up a cropped utility jacket in black to wear when I’m not shivering constantly.
If like me you’re looking to add some more utility jackets to your wardrobe, be sure to check out some of my favourites that I have picked out below and let me know what you think of this current trend.
