For this weeks blog post I thought I’d make it a little bit more personal. I sometimes forget that even though I am constantly writing about my life and the different aspects surrounding it, that the people that read my posts don’t actually know me. They may know a few things about me, but they don’t know me on a personal level...well all that’s about to change.
I wanted to do something a little different and share some of the things that the average reader may not know about me. So dim the lights and light a candle because it’s just you and me and it’s about to get a little personal. Or you’ll just learn 12 useless facts about me that you didn’t already know.
1.
I'M A LONDENER
_
Yes, I am technically a Londoner. I was born in the centre of London at St Thomas’s hospital on April 8th 1994, but I wasn’t there for long. I spent the first eight years of my life living in West Sussex, then moved up north to a small village in Cheshire called Holmes Chapel where I spent the rest of my childhood and teens. I also briefly lived in Derby while studying at university before moving back down to London where I live now. So I guess you could say I’ve done a full circle.
2.
I'M KIND OF A GOOFBALL
_
What can I say I like making people laugh. I take pleasure out of acting silly and saying stupid things. Sometimes making myself to look slightly daft for the entertainment of others. I’ve been told I can be quite a cheeky kind of guy.
3.
OBSESSED WITH MUSIC
_
This may come as a surprise to some that don’t know me, but growing up I have always been obsessed with music. For as long as I can remember I am constantly listening to music. It is actually one of the reasons why I started writing this blog, as it originally only solely contained music content. I also studied Music Technology at university for three years, have played guitar for over ten years, enjoy songwriting and I am really interested in music production….so music is definitely a BIG part of my life.
4.
I'M A MORNING PERSON
_
We do exist but we are a rare breed. I actually quite like early mornings; going outside when the air is still crisp and making the most of the day. Much to the annoyance of previous ex girlfriends who definitely did not feel the same way. I hate wasting a whole day in bed and pretty much wake up ready to do something productive with my time.
5.
I LOVE ALL FOOD
_
I’m really not a fussy eater and will eat pretty much anything. I love trying anything new, but constant favourites are Mexican food, pizza, pineapple, and pretty much anything sweet. I’ve been cursed with a sweet tooth which makes trying to eat healthy a challenge at times.
6.
I USED TO DANCE
_
This is something that not many people are aware of but I used to love dancing. I actually took hip hop, jazz and contemporary classes for around 10 years. It’s something I really want to get back into, but haven’t found the time since moving to London.
7.
I CAN BE SHY
_
I’m not a massively shy person anymore, but I definitely was when I was younger. I remember once being in a restaurant with my family and being told that if I wanted to eat I had to order my own food myself ( I think my parents were trying to make me more confident) and I was so shy that when it came to asking for what I wanted I couldn’t. Instead I went hungry and just sat there watching my Mum, Dad and Sister eating their delicious food. I’m definitely not like that anymore. Moving out of home and going to university really broke me out of my shell, but I can still be shy in certain situations that make me feel uncomfortable. Although once you get to know me you can’t really shut me up.
8.
I CAN CLICK MY KNUCKLES
_
Kind of a useless fact, but it’s my only party trick. I can crack knuckles just by clenching my fists. I’ve never met anyone else that can do this. Just waiting for the day that I do.
9.
I'M PRETTY SURE I COULD LIVE OFF GIN & COFFEE
_
If I was stranded on a desert island Tanqueray gin and fresh coffee are the only things I’d really need to be happy. I love living in London as there are an endless supply of gin bars and coffee shops to try. My favourite gin drink would have to be a standard G&T and my favourite coffee would have to be anything with caramel in it.
10.
I HATE HIGH SCHOOL
_
Not really sure what it was, but I never really enjoyed high school. I wasn’t overly popular, however I had a few close friends and hated taking French and Math classes. I much prefer college and university where I could choose my subjects in something I was passionate about. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t really commit to something unless it it something I am 100% interested in or if it’s helping me achieve a life goal.
11.
I WISH I WAS BETTER AT SPORT
_
It’s kind of ironic really that I used to dance for ten years, but when it comes to sports I suddenly grow two left feet. I’d love to be better at sports, in particular football and basketball. Two sports I wanted to be better at school but for some reason I was just no good at. However, I’m pretty mean at golf...the crazy kind of course.
12.
I'VE ALWAYS WANTED A DOG
_
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted a pet dog. My parents wouldn’t let me have one. After all they are kind of a big responsibility for a 7 year old, so I settled for a rabbit. Now that I’m older and could actually handle the responsibility, it takes all of my willpower to not run a dog shelter or pet store and get a Shiba Inu or fly to America and steal my friends way has also got one. I mean I could get one, but not sure my landlord would appreciate it.
