6 coffee spots you have to try

I should probably start this post by pointing out the obvious...yes I love coffee and yes I’m writing an entire blog post dedicated to my love for coffee. Not everyone loves the black drink and I get that, but there’s so many coffee shops these days that are packed full of other caffeine free drinks, teas, juices and other tasty treats that there should be something in today's post for everyone.

If there’s one thing London’s not short of it’s a good coffee shop. It seems there’s nearly one on every street corner! I’m not sure what it is about them, but sat in one with a hot cup of coffee in my hand and accompanied by a friend or a good blog or book to read is where I feel most content. Whether it’s a break at work or I just have some time to procaffeinate (*cringing a little at this coffee pun*), I’d thought I’d share with you some of my favourite places to go and get a caffeine fix in London.

1.

 TAPPED
_

Probably my most visited and favourite place to enjoy a coffee in central London. Nothing crazy, just great tasting coffee, presented beautifully, with friendly staff and a good selection of tasty bites to eat. It’s the setting that wins it over for me though. It’s mainly wooden interior design, combined with its warm lightening and oak tree centrepiece gives the cafe a homely yet modern feel. Making it the perfect place to catch up with friends, go for dates or kill an hour or two.

2.

KAFFINE
_

Named quite aptly as this place offers just that; a quick caffeine fix. My number one choice for grabbing a coffee on the go as it’s quite popular and a little snug so a seat isn’t always guaranteed, but it’s coffee is impeccable. Just good old fashioned coffee and great latte art. They even offer courses for anyone that is interested in learning how to perfect their latte art abilities themselves, sadly a skill I never mastered.

3.

 OLE & STEEN
_

Ole & Steen is one for any pastry lovers out there. It’s a danish bakery located  in central London near Tottenham Court Road, that freshly prepares great sweet and savoury pastry treats, but  also serves equally as tasty coffees. It’s large and spacious and feels very modern both inside and out, with a bakery in the centre where you can see the food being freshly prepared. Making it the perfect place to go for a quick bite and a chat with friends.

4.

CURATORS COFFEE
_

For the latte art lovers out there or anyone that is a bit more adventurous or prefers their coffee to be a little more fancy, this one’s for you. I’ve actually never seen more photogenic coffees. This place really does turn their lattes into art. The menu is a little different and offers more than just the classic coffee for anyone that is seeking a little change. From matcha lattes to ice tea, from hot chocolate to espresso punch there’s a little something for everyone... so coffee haters you don’t necessarily have to shy away from this one.

5.

 UNIT 6
_

This is a new discovery as it only recently opened in Stratford but has quickly become a favourite. It’s staff are incredibly friendly and quite simply do exactly what I’m looking for; serve great coffee. They  have a large selection of sandwiches and cakes, on my last visit a cinnamon roll bigger than my fist caught my eye, as well as serving many freshly prepared homemade hot meals. I really like the overall atmosphere of the place as it seems incredibly inviting, friendly and comfortable and is full of greenery, a large moss covered wall and neon sign being the focal point of this cosy café. As it so close to home I’m sure I’ll be making many more visits.

6.

 SIGNORELLI
_

This place was actually recommended to me by a close friend and is another one for all of the foodies. Great for breakfast, lunch or anything in between this cafe located in the heart of east London aims to offer a healthier alternative to your commercial bread and provides nutritious yet tasty meals or snacks...and it does just that. From scrambled egg and Avocado on fresh sourdough toast to a range of toasted breads and sandwiches and their signature focaccia this is the perfect place to get your gluten fix. The drink menu is also very extensive and offers more than just your classic black coffee; with Nutella iced coffees, a large range of teas, chai, matcha and fresh juices and lemonade, there’s something on the menu for everyone.
