black on black

I’m not really sure why but everyone is cities seems to wear black. When I’m bored on the train and I’m people watching I notice this seems to be what a lot of people wear head to toe. Before moving to London I used to have quite a colourful wardrobe, with lots of loud graphic tees and patterns. Now my closet is very minimalist and is probably 80% black, white or grey. Which is something I don’t actually mind. I’m not really sure if this is just a product of me growing up or if moving to the ‘big smoke’ has made more of an impact on my personality than I realised. People warned me before moving to London that ‘everything is so expensive’, ‘you’ll become ruder’ and ‘the air is so dirty’, but this wasn’t really something that I was expecting. I guess I’m a sheep and if I see something enough I’ll give it a go myself.

I’ve never really owned anything striped and I have been looking for a striped top that I actually liked to add to my ever growing collection of clothes. I saw this top when browsing in Bershka and quickly snapped up one in my size. It perfectly combines my old love for graphic tees with the text, with my new love of black clothing and it contained stripes, so really buying it was a no brainer. I’ve been wearing it a lot with my favourite ripped jeans and leather jacket.
