When visiting France one of my main intentions was to try as much food as possible. There's so many things to do in France; so much culture, amazing beaches, new places to explore. I did take full advantage of all of these things, but the food there is just on another level. Fresh baguettes for breakfast and lunch, snacking on chocolate, the crepes, the choros (not actually french but still amazing) and the pastries...oh my god the pastries. For anyone with a sweet tooth like me, France is the perfect place to visit.
During my time there I stayed in Normandy, a small town close to the coast. The apartment that we stayed in overlooked the harbour and was positioned directly opposite a local patisserie, which meant I could get fresh croissants to my hearts content. I swear if I was in France for longer than a week I would get fat so quickly.
One day we decided to visit a part of France called Granville, mainly due to the name, but also because it was somewhere we had never visited before. There wasn't particularly a lot to do there, but it was an attractive looking place. One thing though that made Granville worth going to was it's creperies...I love crepes so much, so it was no surprise that when we walked past 'La Bolee Normande' we stopped for a visit.
I'm going to be honest, the first thing that actually attracted me to the place as we walked past was the fact that each item on the menu had an English translation. My French is terrible, I have tried and failed to learn the language a couple of times, so as an English tourist this was a massive bonus. There is nothing worse than ordering food when you are abroad and not knowing what it is you are actually getting.
So if you ever find yourself in Granville take a trip to La Bolee Normande and you will not be disappointed. They are a little more expensive than some of the other creperies nearby, but never have I seen a creperie with so much choice. The staff were amazing, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great.
